I’m interested in integrating Jira with Slack or Microsoft Teams to get real-time updates directly within those platforms. Has anyone successfully set up this integration for efficient communication and (Find out) task management? I'm looking to receive notifications for issues, comments, and status changes to keep the team updated without constantly switching between applications. Are there specific steps, add-ons, or configurations that make this process smooth?

Hi @Syntax Scenarios ,

Welcome! If you are looking for a straight forward connection from Jira to Slack I would echo @Evgenii's answer and recommend those products.

If, however, this is the first step and you want to build more custom notification logic, or want to have multiple tools feeding into Slack for your colleagues, then I would recommend ScriptRunner Connect. This is a standalone integration platform that allows you to connect multiple applications, writing code to create your custom business logic.

You can use the Managed Connections that allow you to easily and quickly connect to a number of apps natively supported including Jira (DC and Cloud) and Slack or Teams. It also has the Generic Connector which means you can connect to any tool with a REST API.

Once you are connected, you can create a Workspace to create your integrations and solutions. Supported Event listeners give you the ability to easily configure a script to listen to Jira, but it also has Custom Event Listeners which allow you to listen to events from any tool that has a Webhook feature or something similar.

We also have a number of templates for you to use and to get you started.

I realise its much easier to see this in action, so have recorded a short video for you here

You can access and trial ScriptRunner Connect right now here. if there is any more information I can provide please let me know!

Kind regards,

Bobby

Hi, @Syntax Scenarios

Welcome to Atlassian Community

For Jira Cloud, you can use the official Jira Cloud for Slack app to receive notifications for issue updates, comments, and status changes directly in Slack channels. This integration allows for customization of notifications by project and event type, keeping team updates centralized in Slack.

For Jira Server, the Jira Server for Slack integration from the Atlassian Marketplace provides similar functionality, connecting your Jira Server projects to Slack channels and sending notifications for selected events.

Both integrations support customization for specific project notifications, helping streamline updates without switching platforms.

For detailed setup, refer to Atlassian’s documentation:
