Is it possible to add a button in JIRA to run an external app?

I'm creating an app based on the JIRA CLI and I wouild like to add a button in my JIRA project to run that so I don't have to go outside of jira to run it.

If this is possible, can someone please point me in the direction where I can find information about this, or perhaps offer a sample?
