In regard to the new URL field in JIRA issues, is there a way to rename the link?

We use the attach web links a lot for JIRA issues and like the feature to rename the link, but would like to have a required field for a URL link. The issue I am having is  I want to create a shortened name instead of the URL itself so when I attach multiple URL links my team knows which one is which. Is there a way to do that?

Hi @Christian ,

At this moment, it is not possible to edit the web link after its creation, neither the URL, nor the link text.

However, if you add multiple web links to an issue, the link text is displayed, so I don't really understand your second question.

My question is in regards to adding a URL field, not a web link. We currently use web links and rename them so it is user friendly, but I want to use the URL field within a JIRA issue so I can set it as required, but I can't rename the URL field, just the URL text shows up when setting it as a field, not as a web link. Is there a way to rename the URL when using the URL field within a JIRA issue.

I just realized that the field name is naming it and I don't think it fits my application, I'll keep using the Web links as it is more applicable to my use.
