I am uploading thousands of subtasks and it's lengthy to go through and find all the parent ids and amend issue ids etc. However, the biggest issue is that I have set the automation post function on create of subtask to copy other fields across from the parent. This works in a create in the project, one by one, but does not work on Import using CSV. Have trawled through the community here and cannot find an answer.
So, we do manually add the parent id and issue id into the CSV for the subtasks and we are copying and pasting other items but we would need to just put in the identifying fields and we want the others populated from the parent on creation at IMPORT from CSV
Thanks
Hi @Karen FitzGerald _ICT Programme Delivery_
Welcome to community!
Are you using the 'external systems import' or the 'bulk create from csv' functionality?
As per https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-81955 , the external systems import triggers issue_updated event and not issue_create event.
The workaround suggested there was to use the bulk create operation.
Also may be you could do a scheduled trigger on all those imported subtasks to copy the values in bulk after the import?
Thank you. We are using External Systems Import - I don't see Bulk Create from CSV as an option. Could you point me at that please?
The scheduled trigger is a good idea and we will try that.
