Import Trello cards with attachments and checklists

Paul Wareham March 22, 2023

I have an existing project in Trello that has cards with descriptions, attachments, and embedded checklists.  I would like to move these to a Project in Jira software.  The project is already setup in Jira with no issues/epics/tasks yet.

What is the best workflow to use to get the Trello cards into issues, and retain the attachments and checklists (these could be subtasks) in Jira?

You can use the Trello Importer for Jira to import your Trello cards into Jira as issues. This will allow you to retain the attachments and checklists as subtasks. You can map Trello checklists to Jira subtasks during the import process. Once imported, you can organize the issues into epics and start creating tasks and subtasks as necessary to complete the work.

Thanks !  Can I do that import at the level of an existing Jira project?

i have tried to use the Trello import function.  Two issues I ran into:

1. There is no option to import into an existing project.  So, Ok, I think I can just import into a temporary new project and then migrate the issues over to the existing project.

2. More serious is that my import didn't seem to bring over the Checklist items.  They were ignored, and the import process didn't offer me the option to map the checklists.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi, I guess you can import issues to existing JWM project. Also, there is an opcion to copy trello project to jwm.
