Implement Our Own SSO solution for atlassian

Hi,

Is there any way to implement our own apps to provide SSO for Jira and confluence ? or we must have to use and buy apps from market place only e.g saml, easysso, crowd,etc

 as i found most of open source sso solution was stopped or converted to paid one in market place no any app available for free to add sso.

please guide me how can i implement sso in java which work in jira. any help will be highly appreciated. 

also suggest if any free app in market place which support with latest jira.

You will need to write your own authentication system for each of the applications.
