Hi Community, 

I have an epic in project X. Login uptimes are disabled on the epic. Users attach child issue to this Epik. What would I like to achieve? I would like to prevent logging of working time with a child issue connected. But only on this, not on the entire project.

Apart from the great suggestion from Hariharan, another feasible workaround would be to create a specific status in the workflow so that you can add the property jira.issue.editable = false

Moving the Epic to that specific status with the property will prevent users from performing any changes.

It may not be possible to do disable editing for a single epic, but what you can do, is set up an automation that restores the original value in case of any change. Here's an example that I use for Story Point Estimate

You will need to modify the field in the above example and also add an additional condition to check the epic according to your requirements.
