I want to create a chart that shows how issues get closed on a weekly basis?

We have a custom built workflow where the issues flow from open->resolved->Closed. I am looking at building a chart that shows how many were closed each week. Is there anyway this can be done in Jira?

We dont have eazyBI so any info how to show in jira in the form of a bar chart would be helpful. Thanks

Hi @Sujata 

With EazyBI this would be a walk in the park. But as you're looking for an alternative out of the box, you could come close using the recently created gadget on a dashboard and display the result using weekly intervals.

It is not the answer to what you're asking about as the grouping is based on the date the issues were created instead of resolved. It does give you a good overview of issues that are open vs resolved in relation to the moment they were created

You're absolutely right, @Jack. I tend to use recently create more often in dashboards, but created vs resolved is definitely a better fit with the @Sujata's question!

Thanks Walter but created vs resolved doesnt work for me because we look at closed status as part of the chart. The issues dont stop at resolved, so want to know how many were closed and how many were created in the same chart that would give me the percentage/count comparison on how many are getting created and how many are getting closed on a weekly basis. When I use this chart, it tells me resolved = 0 which is incorrect.

Thanks Jack but recently created only gives me the created picture. Infact, I created 2 charts using the time since chart with one query for open issues and another query for closed issues, so I have 2 widgets with bar charts that shows weekly update on creation and closure. I am looking for one chart with both in one, so one can make a comparison on the data.
