I need to release site name for a different organization

Hi everyone,

We have created a new Atlassian Cloud Organization years ago, with Confluence test for migration.

The migration never happened, but the org stayed active.

At the momemt it is using URL OurCompany.atlassian.net.

Now we decided to move to Cloud and we need to create new Organization (because of discount on new product) with the exactly same name.

I am org admin of the previous Organization, but as I understand it, only renaming site URL will not release the previous URL to be used by a different org.

How to proceed? Will deleting all products in Organization and whole Organization itself release this URL?

Hi,

Atlassian store the old url to redirect user to the new site url. So i think you will need to delete the site to free the old url.

you should take contact with atlassian by opening a support ticket
