I need an exact count of all the tickets associated to an epic.
Epic
Story 1
Subtask 1
Subtask 2
Story 2
Subtask 1
Subtask 2
Results would be under Epic A There are a total of 2 Stories/Feature/ and a total of 4 Subtasks
* Please note that Subtasks cannot have an epic even if the parent story/feature does
I can find all stories / features under an epic
I can find all subtasks under an issue
But not the expected combined results above. Is there a query or a report I could use? Please help. Thank you
There isn't a way to show the complete hierarchy in your Epics in a single query on a standard plan. You can do this in Advanced Roadmaps but you have to upgrade to Jira Cloud Premium.
We put together a plugin called Agile Docs which can also do this.
You can select any saved filter for Epics (or any issue type) and Agile Docs will bring up the entire hierarchy under each issue.
Below is an example of what gets brought up when you select a filter for Epics:
Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Rhys
If you would be interested in a third party add-on, you can try out Agile Tools, to track progress of issues in Epic hierarchy on time estimates and at story points as well.
Agile Tools - Epic Tree and Time in Status
The add-on allows you to manage and visualize multiple Epics hierarchy on a single page. Also add-on provides a hierarchy of a single Epic on Epic Issue screen.
Key features of Epic Hierarchy:
Along with Epic Sum, you also get 2 other important functionalities within the same plugin, Links Hierarchy and Multiple Time in Status reports (to track your issues).
