How we can create a Unique ID or reference number for every parent task in incremental.

Hi All,

I have a parent and sub task option in my specific board, and while i am moving one stage to another stage i need to create a sub task and assign to the users. But, while sub task creating, the Key ID are generating, and next parent ID will not be continuing ID from previous ID. Do we have any other option.

Thanks in Advance.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You could script or automate something that generated some unique id, but it would not be of any real use to you as it wouldn't do much.  It would be less functional than the issue key.

Why do you think you might need this?  What problem would a non-sequential arbitrary key solve?
