How to sort by RICE score in Product Discovery except for the sum or average for grouped ideas

In Product Discovery you can give ideas scores (e.g., RICE Score), and then sort by the score.  However, this blends all the ideas together.  I can group them by something (e.g. Epic) and then I can also see the sum or average of their scores grouping.  But how do I sort by descending by the group score sum or average?

See below:  each item within the group is sorted by the RICE score descending but the group containers themselves aren't.

Hi @Tiger Smith -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

That is not possible, and...

A cumbersome work-around would be to not group, but instead

• add a field for the average score
• calculate the new field with an automation rule (to roll up and average the values) when the source information changes for an idea (your RICE score and/or the Epic)
• show the field in the view, and
• add the new field as the first sort criteria, followed by your other sort criteria (the individual RICE score of the ideas)

I think this is not possible at the moment. when you are sorting by a field it always sort the items under the group by elements.

@Tiger Smith I am afraid to say no, it is not even possible manually. Perhaps you can give @Bill Sheboy workaround a try.
