Hello, community,

I have a question regarding the functionality of the Timeline section, specifically how to configure the "bar" to display an item other than an Epic.

I am working with the "Software project" project type.

Even when I set the "Start Date" and "Due Date" for sub-items (such as tasks), the bar does not appear in the appropriate section (on the right).

For items of the Epic type, the bar is displayed by default.

Please note that I am not referring to the standard Progress bar that appears below the Epic item on the left side of the screen.

Could the issue be related to some settings at the admin level or to licensing?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Hello @Martin Šulc

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Are you working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? That information will show at the bottom of the panel on the left when you view the Timeline.

Do you have Child Level Scheduling turned on?

Are you working with a Scrum board or a Kanban board? When working with a Scrum board you have the option to show the timeline bars for children of Epics based on the Sprints the child issues are assigned to or based on the dates you enter. That option appears in the Board setting under the Timeline settings.

Both turning on the Child Level Scheduling and (for scrum boards) selecting the use of dates or sprints for the scheduling are in the same place.
