How to set default resolution when closing an issue

Hi This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: How to Edit the Resolution of an Issue

Hi - Is there a way to set the default resolution when closing an issue?  For some reason, some issue types (DEFECT) in one project has the default set to UNRESOLVED and in some issue types (IMPROVEMENT) the default is FIXED.  The workflow and transitions are the same for both issue types.

You need to log in as an admin, go to the list of resolutions and check the options.

If there is one on the list there called "unresolved", you have a broken system and you need to fix it.  Rename it to "broken resolution, do not use me" or something equally clear.

Hi Vivian,

Yes you can do by editing workflow properties for transition by adding the below property along with values (ID's of Resolution you would like to see) on that transition.

You can do either

jira.field.resolution.include or jira.field.resolution.exclude

Hope this helps
