How to see Sub-Tasks in Calendar

Melissa Chicoine May 1, 2024

Hello! We use sub-tasks (created under a parent Task as child issues) to track different phases of work (e.g.: Requirement Gathering, Development, Testing). I currently keep track of every sub-task in a spreadsheet to put together durations, timelines, schedule upcoming work, etc. -- but this morning I noticed "Calendar" in the side menu of the project. The only issue is that I don't see any of our sub-tasks in the "unscheduled" column (and didn't see any answers online about how to get them to show up).

Does anyone know if/how to get sub-tasks to appear to schedule them on the Calendar? You can filter by sub-tasks in the Calendar view... so I /assume/ there's a way and I'm missing something (or it's another Jira thing that requires an upgraded license to view sub-tasks(?)).

TYIA!

Hello, Good day. You are using Jira work management ?. Please refer to https://support.atlassian.com/jira-work-management/docs/create-and-edit-issues-and-subtasks-on-the-calendar/

Yes, we're using a team managed project. I can move the parent issue (task) and see them in the "unscheduled" view, but none of the (child) sub-tasks appear.

I think I figured it out:

Project Settings > Features > Enable "Issue Navigator"
