I use jira cloud with latest new jira issue view. It supports markdown and has rich text editor.
I have some images attached to the ticket.
I can't link them as thumbnails in the description... How can I do that?
wiki markup did not work...
Regarding markdown - official doc tells only how to link images from the web... but not the attached ones...

If you open the image you've attached to your issue and right-click on that > Copy, you can paste it as a thumbnail in the description:
However, I found the following bug reported on our portal:
- New Issue View: Pasting screenshot No Longer Working in Some Browsers
That being said, I believe it will only work for Chrome at this moment.

Actually, I believe that it should be working like this, however, we still working to fix the bug mentioned before.

I encountered this bug today, clicking on the Files & Images icon in the editor toolbar just opens a file window to select the image. Perhaps there is a way that I'm not aware of.
Have there been any changes to the comment editor with regards to adding an already-attached image since 2018 when this question was originally posted?

As of today, the wiki markup still works in old view. So for me the solution was to switch to the old issue view and provide from there the links to attached images...
