Hi! I have worked on my folder on Jira and mistakenly deleted a document in that folder. I really to recover this document. Could you please help guide me how to do that?
Besides, I want to create a support request to the admin or technical contact to help me retrieve this document, but I could not able to locate anywhere in the page to do it. Please guide on this one.
Thank you!
Hello @Pham Ann ,
As it has already been mentioned, if some piece of data is deleted it may gone forever.
To have an option to restore your accidentally deleted data, it's worth considering having backups of your account data. You can:
- export your data to your local machine: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/export-issues/
- or use third-party backup tools, like GitProtect: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1228719/gitprotect-io-for-jira-backup-restore-dr-data-management?hosting=cloud&tab=overview
Regular backups can give you full control over your data, thus, if something is accidentally deleted, you can restore it, easily continuing your work without interruptions.
Regards,
Daria
Hi @Pham Ann ,
Are we talking about attachment on the Jira issue or the Jira issue itself?/when you say 'document' and 'folder', what do you reference?
Also, are you Jira admin for your instance and looking for Atlassian Support assistance here, or are you Jira user without admin rights and looking to contact your org admin? If you're looking for Atlassian Support, you can contact them here.
Regarding recovery of attachments, once these are deleted from an issue, files cannot be restored (except from backup file). Here's a feature request on soft deletion of attachments: JRACLOUD-81027 Ability to restore deleted attachments
The same applies to deleted Jira issues if we're talking about that.
Also, a note that although Atlassian has its backup program, their backups are not used to revert customer-initiated destructive changes. You can read more about that here: Atlassian’s approach to resilience
Cheers,
Tom

HI @Pham Ann
Welcome to the community.
Are you talking about Jira or Confluence as JIra has no folders and pages, only Confluence does.
Are you the admin of the space in Confluence, if so, go to the space settings and select the Trash option under content.
You should find the deleted document there.
