How to migrate to Service Desk from existing JIRA projects? Manually?

Brian Batts October 15, 2014

Basically, we are becoming bigger and bigger fans of Atlassian, starting with only JIRA. Now we've added Confluence, Bitbucket, HipChat, but now we want to add JIRA Service Desk & JIRA Agile.

Currently, we have a JIRA 25 user license

We had been giving EACH user a JIRA license. We are growing quickly and now need JIRA Service Desk. Is it possible to migrate issues from JIRA to JIRA Service desk?

Thank you B.

There is no migration needed as Service Desk is an add on for JIRA. You will need to however setup a couple of things for Service Desk including permissions, defining agents, queues, SLA and customer portals.

Thanks Timothy. Once I installed the trial, it became clear and quite user friendly setup...you just add a service desk using an existing project, then update the permissions, etc.
