How to make a custom field are required filed

I just created 2 custom fields and want make them a required fields.  How would I go about doing that?

You can do it two ways, either as required as part of a transition, or make them required all the time by mark them as required in the field configuration scheme that your project is using. See Specify field behavior for information on how to change the field configuration. If you just want it for a specific transition, all you have to do is add a validator on that transition and make the fields required.

Note that this only apply to company-managed projects, if you have a team-managed project you cannot make the fields required.
