We recently started using Mavenlink to log time for our tasks and get reports out of it. But we also use Jira extensively for release tasks. We don't want to use two tools and would rather like to:
1) log time for each task, where we also add a brief description about what was done during the entered time
2) get easy reports for the individuals and the team as a whole
We want to do the above two in Jira. We're familiar with the "Time Tracking" field available in each Jira, but not sure if that'll help us get the reports as well. I've looked at some plugins as well but not entirely sure which will help us the best. So thought of asking you all for help and ideas. Please let me know, thank you!
Hi @Ashish ,
As it comes to time tracking/timesheets/planning I feel there is one big app you might consider and that is Tempo Time Tracking.
It allows you to do all you want as you can plan issues, log time on them with a description and also get all the reporting out of it.
If however you'd like to use just the regular reporting from JIRA they also have an implementation of a reporting tool based on the internal JIRA time tracking
Thank you for your quick help @Dirk Ronsmans! :) We'll surely check out Tempo; that was one plugin/tool that came up even in my own brief research.
However, if we don't choose to use any plugins, if possible could you please share some quick guides/help articles on how to get reports (for individuals and the entire team) out of JIRA's own time tracking functionality? I looked for it myself, but JIRA's documentation is vast and not quite easy to navigate through and searching didn't really give me relevant results.
Thank you in advance!
