I am used to legacy Jira Server setup at work and recently moved my personal projects to be be managed in the Jira within the Cloud.
There's a ton of changes I love and would like to have at the company straight away, but there's one annoyance that is disturbing.
Within the Kanban project's Board I rely a lot on the EPIC's functionality to manage my mid-term goals (milestones), but the Epic Panel on the Backlog keeps being turned off and I need to switch it visible manually, every time I log in to the project.
Is there a tick somewhere I could fill and seal to keep the panel on for all the times?
Hi @iXmerof
When you say it's turning off - do you mean:
Is this happening every time you reload the Board? Or only in certain circumstances?
---
Neither should be happening in my experience though, the Epic Panel should remain on until it is deactivated in Board Settings, and if you leave it open on the Board, it should still be open next time you visit.
There might be a specific scenario you mention though worth reviewing :)
A screenshot might also be beneficial here, to clarify what is happening!

Thank you for your response,
it's about this "Epic Panel" switch, it keeps defaulting to be off, so everytime i log in to my board the epic's panel is hidden, what's a bit annoying

Hi @iXmerof
That's not my experience, it remembers my choice.
Have you tried...
^ Or, if there is someone else with access to your Jira instance, could you ask them to try and see what happens?

You've actually gave me an idea. I am using my board across, ca. 8 devices. If this is not the default behavior maybe the panel's configuration is not stored on the server but locally and some of the devices still remember the panel being shut down, pushing that setting back to the server as recent.
I will log out of all of these, clear the caches/storages, log in on a single device, setup everything as expected and then log in one by one to setup the same.
Does it make any sense?
To answer your question: yes, I tried different browser, each of the devices is a slightly different browser, version, UI experience/client

Yes, that makes sense.
