I'm implementing Jira Service Desk for my internal teams, but I've found an issue that is probably a killer for this tool. I need to copy spreadsheet tables directly into the issue description on the customer portal side (when the customer is creating the ticket). This is commonly used in my organization, and the current tool does support it, so this feature MUST be implemented. If there is no way to do it we will have to drop the idea of implementing JSD.
Out of the box this should work as long as the description fields supports HTML content, it will have an ability to copy the excel and in the description it will show as a table form.
Another solution is to just setup the Service desk with a custom field Link, this is assuming that you are using Cloud based DMS like Google docs.
