How to include field names in Workflow>Transition>Validation error messages

When creating certain Workflow transition validations, it's possible to include a message to the user about why the validation failed. Is it possible to include dynamic field values in these messages? For example, instead of the the error message saying "This issue type must be assigned to the reporter"; is it possible to say "This issue type must be assigned to [%reporter%]". Where [%reporter%] is replaced with the reporter of the issue. I realize the syntax is wrong, I'm just asking if it's possible and if so, what is the proper syntax?
