How to edit the group name in jira

Example :any group(Custom Group name)

It is not possible via the UI. There is a open question about that:

And still not possible in the cloud version. Atlassian seems to have only sales and marketing people and only a few developers to not even enable such absolute simple essential functionality.

Mid 2022 and still no ability to rename Groups in the cloud version. @atlassian, is this something really difficult to implement, way down the priority list or simply never going to happen?

For posterity, here is the open item requesting this for Atlassian Cloud products. Raised in 2003 and last responded to by Atlassian in 2015 so don't hold your breath!

Would have been an adequate Tooltip text in 2003:
Please think twice before pressing the "OK"-button. It may take 20 years before you can change the name of this group.

but hey: in 02-2023 the feature is around the corner :-)
