How to display the Estimated End Date along with the Status in Atlas Project Updates

Currently when we add the Jira project task URL in the Atlas project Updates, it is showing with Task status as follows. Along with the status, is there any way to display the Task Due Date / Estimated End Date?

Hi @sjatla ,

On an additional note to what Humashankar said, you could reformat the update note to display Jira issues by using Jira Issues macro. With it, you can display any issue field within the table - the only thing you cannot achieve if looking at you example would be adding an additional note/text next to each issue.2024-11-07_14-16-58.png

Anyway, hope this helps.

Cheers,
Tom

Hi @sjatla

The current Atlas-Jira integration provides a high-level overview of linked Jira project tasks and epics, displaying details such as task status. However, it does not automatically show specific fields like Estimated End Date or Due Date.

  • This limitation is due to Atlas's design focus on providing top-level project visibility, emphasizing overall project progress over task-level details.
  • By default, Atlas prioritizes displaying key progress updates and completion dates for epics and larger project milestones, rather than individual task deadlines.

Although directly displaying Estimated End Date or Due Date alongside task status in Atlas updates is not supported, potential workarounds exist. These include manually adding dates to update descriptions or leveraging Jira Automation to bridge the gap for specific requirements.

Key Considerations:

Atlas does not automatically import custom fields from Jira, such as Estimated End Date, when linking Jira tasks in Atlas Project Updates. Instead, Atlas displays high-level information like task status, progress, and completion percentage for linked epics or tasks.

To include the Estimated End Date, you can either manually add it to the Atlas update description or utilize Jira Automation to incorporate key dates into the Jira task summary, making them accessible in Atlas.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards
