Hi liudmyla.b@moonactive.com

You can do this in one board using Parallel Sprints.

To ensure Parallel Sprints are enabled you'll need to be a Jira Admin and then...

  1. Go to Jira Settings > Products > Jira Software Configuration
  2. Ensure the checkbox next to "Parallel Sprints" is checked

Then create your Scrum Board with one backlog - and it'll let you start multiple sprints from within it. You could assign one of these active sprints to each team.

On the Active Sprint board, you can filter between the different sprints from the filter line (where quick filters are kept) - it'll give you the option to view one individual sprint or all issues from all active sprints.

Quick follow up question: Doing this, does it mess with the velocity report (all the reports)?

I'll rephrase; I'm looking at a way of having one backlog, run parallel sprints, where two teams work with each sprint simultaneously. But I would still like to have the Jira reports reflect the teams individually and not as one big team (I hope I am clear enough).

Would I be able to see Velocity report for Team A and Team B separately or would Jira just assume it's one team and give me an average? This has happened to me in the past, hence the question.

Backlogs are not associated with Projects really. Rather they are associated to Boards. Are you wanting to have multiple boards but one backlog or one board and on backlog? The later is easy the former requires a bit of diligence by the team as you would have individual team boards and then you would have one board for all teams and the associated backlog would cover all.

How can I create this? One main board and backlog for two teams (one scrum team and one Kanban team) but in the same time have individual team boards.

Hi @Alma Agic

You can't - your Board can be either Kanban or Scrum, not both.

I'd be careful having two Boards with the same data though - Boards are just visualising data from a Filter - so if two Boards have the same data, a change in one will be reflected in the other, and could cause confusion.
