A velocity chart was recently presented to management by a colleague.  Various teams complained that their team's velocity chart was wrong because they had not entered Original Estimates for their Jiras.

How can I show a bar graph chart by Sprints with

- First column showing # of Jiras for given sprint (original + newly added - removed)

- Second column showing same Jiras as above, but with Original Estimate empty

- Trend line to show % of sprint Jiras that with Original Estimate empy

I am trying to get Engineering to address Jira hygiene issues before showing their performance.

Hello @Bijal Shah

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Jira does not natively provide capabilities that can satisfy your requirement. It does not provide functionality for creating completely custom charts. You would need to look at third party apps to see if there is one that could satisfy your need.

Hi @Bijal Shah,

Your request looks like a "corner case". I'm afraid that you will not find such a chart that will fully-fill your requirements.

But something helpful could be the Team Velocity Chart gadget offered by our Great Gadgets app.

This shows:

- Initial Scope - the total Original Estimate at the start of sprint

- Final Scope - the total Original Estimate at the end of sprint  (original + newly added - removed)

Optionally you can choose to display bars for Added, Removed, % Added, %Removed, etc.

It can also display a data tab, showing the issues that had empty or zero Original Estimate at the start of sprint.

You can easily export this data in CSV and do further processing in Excel if you want.

Hope this helps.
