Hi All - My use case is that I'm trying to show that the average number of Issues (bugs and stories) being created in the last x days is trending down. I have created Filters to show # of Issues (Bugs and Stories) in the last x days. Is it possible to create a Filter &/or Dashboard to calculate average # of Issues opened in last x days?
Thanks in advance!
Hi @p_park
If you want to calculate the average number of issues, you can do this in a few ways:
Manual Method:
x
(number of days).Use an Add-on like Time in Status:
If you consider installing third-party add-ons, option for you can be Time in Status. You can get various real time reports with add-on. To get average days aging was on a give date just
Also you can display the average time by Chart View.
Visualize Trends
Add-on developed by my team and free up to 10 users
Hope it helps
Thanks @Kit Friend I created the Recently Created Chart gadget already. Good to know it doesn't have average capabilities.

Hi @p_park,
You could try the Recently Created Chart gadget of Jira. This displays the number of issues reported each day (and how many of them are already resolved). Unfortunately it does not display the average as a number.
For better charts, my advice is to search for on app (plugin) Atlassian Marketplace.
If you are willing to use an app, our Great Gadgets app offers a Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget that can display the issue created every day of month, split by type along with the total or average.
In addition, it can display this data as a chart.
The app offers many other gadgets that could be useful to display the average.

Without additional apps there's not too much smarts in terms of averages etc in Jira.
This guide will help you explore your native options:

I'd recommend trying the created vs resolved for helping with your visualisation here.
