Hi everyone,
I'm a bit confused, because when I tried to add "Send Slack message" as action into my automation rule, the first field to complete is "Webhook URL" and there is a link below that field "Please configure an incoming webhook in your Slack account."
But when I clicked on this link they say that Webhooks entrants are "deprecated and possibly removed in the future. We do not recommend their use."
So, anyone knows what I'm supposed to do ?
Thanks in advance for your help !
Hi @Raphaël NORYNBERG ,
Despite the deprecation warning, that is indeed the app to use for sending messages to Slack from Jira Automation. We've got an internal issue tracking the deprecation notice. Currently there's no public issue on jira.atlassian.com to follow along with for progress - checking with our product team to see if we can get that info visible. In the meantime, using the legacy webhook app will work.
You can also create a Slack app and use its webhooks as Slack recommends now, however one limitation with that method in the current Automation setup is that it can only send to one Slack channel. The channel/user override in the Automation interface won't work with the app method.
Cheers,
Daniel
