How to change JIRA log Directory

Suyash Jain _Appfire_ June 12, 2017

By default JIRA uses ${HOME}/log directory to keep its log files. But I want to change it to /var/log.

One way of doing that is. I can change the log4j configuration and provide absolute path but then the Atlassian Support Tool - Log analyser do not detect this change and try to scan ${HOME}/log/atlassian-jira.log only.

So here I want to make sure that JIRA is aware of new LOG directory.

Thanks

Suyash

You can create a softlink to /var/log from ${HOME}/log/ as a work around. Would it help you ?

Ah, as far as I can make out, the Support Tool does not read any config for the log file.

I would leave the log4j config alone and use a symbolic link for the logs directory.
