How to associate a new workflow with a project (kanban)

In a Kanban project, how do you associate it with a given (new) workflow? The workflow is inactive and I can't see how to make it active

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

What type of project are you using? Get that information from the Type column on the View All Projects page under the Projects menu.

If it is a Company Managed project then a Workflow is activated when it is associated with an Issue Type in a Workflow Scheme, in a Workflow Scheme that is associated with a project.

Team Managed project workflows are managed directly in the project. Go to Project Settings. Select Issues. Click on the issue type for which you want to change the workflow. Click the Edit Workflow button in the upper right corner. Modify the workflow and save your changes.
