Depending on the type of issue/bug we want it to be assigned to different teams. How and at what level do we configure JIRA so that it routes those bugs to specific people/teams.
The idea is to capture - the keywords in the bug/issue reported, reporter's business unit and region and based on these routing the request to different teams.
Please advise how JIRA would take care of this. Thank You.
The simplest answer to this, without doing any customizations is to define different filters. Define a filter for eacht team, listing only these issues that apply to the rules you want implemented. Then members of this team can subscribe to these filters. Jira will then send an email to all subscribers with the filterresults on a configured schedule (e.g. every day).
You can use simple custom fields to capture the business unit /region of the reporter.
Otherwise a custom plugin is needed to implement this exact business rule in the workflow you are using. But we always advise customers to limit the use of third party plugins, because this will make it harder to keep up with the Atlassian product releases. You always have to wait for third parties to catch up.
Can you please clarify what do you mean by cusom filters and from where o achieve this?
