I am trying to add a transition from Done to Pending Changes for one of my workflows.
I navigate to the workflow edit screen by clicking on the settings for the project on the left side of the screen, then clicking "workflows", and finally by clicking the pencil/edit icon for the workflow I want to change. I am a system admin, and the workflows themselves say they are published.
I then click on the status "Done", and hit "Add Transition", then fill in the information:
However, when I click "Add", I receive this error: ("You cannot perform this operation on a draft workflow")
If I can't make edits to a draft workflow, then where on earth can I make edits?
I've seen people suggest copying this workflow, but I don't see that as an option either. Any advice on how to get around this would be very helpful. Thank you in advance!
Hi @mhenderson - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
This tends to happen when there is no outflow from the status. So, the only way to update is to create a copy of the existing workflow, and then make your changes to the copy while it is still in an Inactive status.
Then you add the new workflow into the existing workflow scheme and map the same issue types that the old workflow had in the scheme to the new workflow.
Hi @John Funk , thanks for the welcome and for the help!
I imagine I am missing something very obvious, but I don't see a way to "copy" my existing workflow. I tried following the directions on this page but I do not have a copy button anywhere on the workflow screen. Again, hopefully there's a very obvious button that I'm just not seeing!
Thanks!

Sorry, go to Settings (gear icon) > Issues > Workflows
Search for the workflow, then click the 3 dots menu to the far right.
There you will see the option for Copy.
