I found this great article in the Development Community on how to add the status column to the "Child Issues" panel in an Initiative -

Unfortunately, Atlassian decided that the Cloud version of JIRA no longer needed the Announcement Banner, and remove it. This has come back to hit us several times - seeing the status column in the "Child Issues" panel is just the latest incident.
Does anyone have a workaround for JIRA Cloud?
