How to add field of Epic link when creating Story issue

How to add field of Epic link when I create story issue?

Based on my project creation as team-managed type, there is no Epic link field when I try to create the story issue.

No Epic link.PNG

However, I have seen from other projects as company-managed type that there is this field available, so I'm not sure if it's because the default configuration between the project types is different?

Are there any ways for me to add this field available into my project?

Hi @Thankamol Luanglarppaisal

  • ‘Epic Link’ field is used for company managed projects.
  • Team managed projects don’t use Epic link. Those type of projects use the the ‘Parent’ field instead.

Cheers

Adding to what @Hamza Chundrigar

If you have used the Create button from the menu bar to start the creation of the issue in a Team Managed project you can't specify its parent Epic during that process.

If you want to create an issue and have it be created as a child of an Epic you have these options:

1. While viewing the Epic click on the "Add a child issue" button.

2. Click on the "+" button int he Child Issues section of the Epic.

If you have already created the issue and need to add it to an Epic your options are:

1. Click on the "Add epic" link in the bread crumbs when viewing the issue.

2. If you have a Backlog screen enabled and the Epics Panel enabled, dragged and drop the story onto the Epic.

3. In the Backlog screen hover over an issue and the "+Epic" button will display.

4. On a board, click on the "..." button for a card and choose "Add parent"
