How to add attachment as Custom field in JIRA so to attach a file during bulk upload of issues.

Hi all

I am doing bulk upload of issues by creationg excel template. So in the template i want to have one column as attachment of either text file or excel file. I am not able to create custom filed as attachment type. Can anybody please help in this.

What field do i need to select for creating attachment as custom field.

Hi @Archana,

You may have already seen the following details in the Community. In case you haven’t, there is already an open ticket with Atlasssian requesting for an Attachment custom field here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-4925. But unfortunately, Atlasssian has conveyed that they are not planning to support this in JIRA as per the open ticket cited.

We have seen Smart Attachments being recommended on various other community threads that you may want to take a look at. One such thread is pasted here for your review - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/attachment-as-custom-field/qaq-p/370106.

Just wanted to make you aware of what we found while researching a similar problem looking for Attachment custom field.
