How to accept attachment from anyone?

Hi,

we have a project where external client are allowed to create issues (via Extendable Mail Handler - CreateOrComment, with param defaultReporterUsername=someuserinjira). When a issue is created by a non-user of jira, the issue has someuserinjira as reporter of the issue. But, if this issue is created from a non-user of jira, this user cannot attach files in the email, jira will not allow it. Even if in my permission scheme, the Create Attachments allows the Project Role (Users), Reporter and Group (Anyone).

Hi Sabrina,

The defaultreporter would need to have appropriate roles in your project, the nonjira user isn't used in that case (so long as you have user creation turned off)

What version of JIRA are you using, pre 1.0 may have bugs, a significant amount of testing has features have gone into 1.0+ (JIRA 5 only).
