Hi Team,

Happy New Year to everyone !

We in process of pitching Atlassian Cloud to once of our premium customers and are collating some use cases around how automation in Jira Cloud are better than one in DC. Firstly, is there any difference in automation capabilities between Jira Cloud and Jira DC ? If yes, then where can I get that comparison.

Another aspect we are looking for is reporting. Are there any differences between Cloud and DC w.r.t reporting capabilities ?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards

Abhishek

Hello @abhishek_sharma03

Are you also gathering information on how Automation might be worse for the client in Jira Cloud vs. DC?

For instance there are usage limits in Jira Cloud that are not present in Jira DC.

https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/how-is-my-usage-calculated/

Have you done a simple comparison between the available Actions, Conditions, Triggers, and Branch capabilities between DC and Cloud, to see what differences are listed?

Does your client use just Jira Software or also Jira Service Management? If they use JSM are they also using Assets? Do they integrate Jira with Development tools? Are they integrating between Automation and functionality external to Jira?

Hi @abhishek_sharma03

Good luck in presenting Cloud to your client.

The main difference I see is that DC features, including Automation, are mainly stagnant while the Cloud is always improving.  With DC they would have to wait for a new release and upgrade to get new features and improvements.
