How do you limit what spaces people can access

If I give someone access to Confluence and Jira, how do I limit what space they're able to see?

For example I want them to see  Space A and not Space B.

You can limit what spaces a user can access by modifying the space permission, see Space permissions overview. From here you can set how can view the space, add/delete pages etc.
