How do I setup proxy access for Jira so I can download plugins?

Andrew Sumner November 13, 2011

Based on the documentation I have found I:

ran regedit and navigated to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > Apache Software Foundation > Procrun 2.0 > JIRA > options

and added

-Dhttp.proxyHost=***
-Dhttp.proxyPort=***

I also added

-Dhttp.proxyUser=***
-Dhttp.proxyPassword=***

but still get this error message in the plugins page: "An error occurred while connecting to the Atlassian Plugin Exchange. For more information about this problem, please refer to the UPM documentation."

I'm using Jira 4.4.3 running as a windows service.

Any ideas?

Jira does not support NTLM authentication so I need to wait until our proxy server is upgraded.

I have used NTLMAPS in the past for jira plugins, worked well once configured properly.
