How do I set a custom label when an Issue is created using the Issue collector in Jira?

The Issue collector in Jira creates an unhelpful label by default with no way to change what label is assigned to it--any help?

Answering my own question here. There doesn't appear to be a way to set a custom Label for an Issue created using an Issue Collector, it will use the random 'collector-abcdefgh' label that is tied to the collector itself.

I can, however, create an Automation to replace that label with a custom one. It should look something like this:

  1. when: Issue created
  2. if: Issue fields condition. There, select field 'Labels', condition 'contains any of', and value of "collector-abcdefgh".
  3. then: Edit issue field. Select field 'Labels', with condition 'contains any of'. In value, create your new label. Note that labels can't contain spaces.

With this I can distinguish different tickets by their respective reporting source visually.

You may also need to turn off automation run email confirmations (or else it may send an email each time it runs).
