How do I make sure sub-tasks have to be closed to close a task in a Jira next-gen project?

Jira next-gen projects allow me to close an epic without closing all child issues, and closing a task without closing all subtasks. This leaves the possibility for errors. Please advise.

While things continue to change frequently in NG, to the best of my knowledge this is not possible. I expect this will come after they introduce workflows which is coming in 2020.
