I am creating a new issue type to work with customer requests and for this issue type only, we would like for the component field to be required.  When I do this via the field configuration page it makes it required for all issue types in our project in our Jira. How do I make it required for just the one issue type?

Hello @Anya Koroleva

You create a Field Configuration where you mark the field as required.

You modify the Field Configuration Scheme(s) for the relevant project(s) so that the modified Field Configuration is included and applied to only the issue types where you want the field to be required.

Refer to: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-a-field-configuration-scheme/

Hi @Anya Koroleva ,

I would do this with unique workflow for the issuetype where Component is required. Then, in this workflow add a validator (Field required). Does this make sense?
