How do I get story points to show in the backlog on a custom issue?

Roderick Buttermore September 2, 2020

I created a custom issue type. I'd like to be able to show story points in the backlog view (in the little gray circle) in the same way that tasks and stories currently display. I can edit the story points within the task, but they do not display in the backlog. 2020-09-02 09_52_30-GUTS board - Agile Board - Jira.png

Hi @Roderick Buttermore

Try this.

  1. Go to your Custom Fields: secure/admin/ViewCustomFields.jspa
  2. Search for "Story Points"
  3. Click on the 3 dots ... | Contexts and default value
  4. Select the configuration scheme (of the default one, I prefer creating new one)
  5. Modify the "Choose applicable issue types" and select your new issue type, be careful when selecting press Ctrl or Cmd button to select new values
  6. Click on Modify
  7. Enjoy estimating on the new issue type

I hope it helps.
