I like to add roles to Assets. When I click Assets>Configure>Roles I only see the role 'Assets Administrator'.
How can I add the role 'Assets Users'?

Hello @Loj Trebla

To add the "Assets Users" role in Jira Service Management, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Assets:

    • Go to Assets from the main navigation bar in Jira Service Management.
  2. Access Configuration:

    • Click on Configure.
  3. Manage Roles:

    • Select Roles from the configuration options. You should currently see only the "Assets Administrator" role.
  4. Add a New Role:

    • Click on the Add role button.
    • In the dialog that appears, enter "Assets Users" as the role name.
    • Assign the appropriate permissions to this new role. This might include permissions such as viewing assets, but not necessarily managing them, depending on your needs.
  5. Save the Role:

    • Click Save to create the new role.
  6. Assign Users to the New Role:

    • Once the role is created, go to the Users and roles section.
    • Add users or groups to the "Assets Users" role by selecting the role and then choosing the users or groups from the list.

For more detailed steps and additional configurations, you can refer to the official Atlassian documentation on adding users or groups to an object type role.

By following these steps, you should be able to create and assign the "Assets Users" role successfully.
