Defining status for each column on a bulletin board (bboard) typically involves assigning labels or categories (e.g., To-Do, In Progress, Completed). You can use color coding, icons, or tags to represent different statuses, making it easier to track progress.

To define a status for each column on a board, assign a specific status label (e.g., "To Do," "In Progress," "Done") to lmc 8.4 column. Ensure the board logic aligns with workflows, so items move between columns based on their current status. Use visual indicators like colors for clarity!

Defining status for each column on a bulletin board (bboard) involves setting specific labels or indicators for each column, such as "Open," "In Progress," or "Closed." This helps organize and track the progress of tasks or discussions within each column. Use colors or icons for clearer visual status representation.

Hi @piso wifi

Welcome to the community.

Statuses that you can define in board columns are based upon the statuses used in the workflow related to an issue type.

So to have more statuses you need to adjust the workflow used by the issue types first.

Status updates are by default logged in the issue that changes status.

You can use automation in a project to trigger notification based on status changes

I’m trying to figure out how to set up and define statuses for each column on a bboard (bulletin board or kanban board). Specifically, I’d like to:

  • Assign clear status labels (e.g., "To Do," "In Progress," "Completed").
  • Ensure status updates are tracked when items move between columns.
  • Possibly automate notifications or triggers based on status changes.

Okey to assign status labels ,check  this link https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-columns/?utm_source=chatgpt.com

status updates are automatically tracked in jira to view this you can check by opening the issue then view workflow

If in your project , the Notification Scheme associated with it is set up to include Issue Updated events or specific Workflow Transition Events, then you do not need automation. Notifications will be sent automatically when an issue transitions from one status to another
