How can you pull the parents of all the epic issues types in a jira project dynamically?

We have Jira Cloud Premium which provides the ability to have a higher level issue that all the EPIC issue types roll up into by setting the Parent Link.

I am trying to pull all the EPIC issue types from two Jira Software Projects. I want to dynamically pull the parent links for for the EPICs returned. We have ScriptRunner enhanced search. I have tried using the issueFunction w3ith epicsOf, issuesInEpics, parentsOf without success.

Here's my filter to get epics:  project in (AA,BB) and issuetype = Epic

I want to figure out how to get all the parents of ("project in (AA,BB) and issuetype = EPIC")

I also have this issue and the Jira JQL filter docs are not fully implemented to get it done. Especially for the so called "New Gen" Jira Projects.
