I am trying to create automation that will add the current sprint to a field when an issue is transitioned to a done status. This way, at the end of the year, we can see multiple metrics by sprint.
However, since we have some issues that take multiple sprints to complete, the sprint value come in as string value containing all of the sprints the issue was apart of. I am just looking for the sprint that was active when the issue was completed.
I have the automation set up correctly but I am unable to figure out the correct smartvalue or methodology to pull just the active sprint.
I found https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Get-active-sprint-name-in-smart-value-for-automation/qaq-p/1573065#U1874946 which looks similar to this issue and I am able to pull in the delimited sprint values it describes but I am unable to get the match function to work to bring it home.
Would anybody have any idea how to accomplish this?
I would try this:
Trigger: when a sprint is completed in board xxx
Action: create smart value variable - sprint Id smart value
Action: lookup issues with jql status = done and sprint id = smart value variable from above.
Action: advanced branching and update the field over the lookup issues: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Automation-articles/Branching-over-smart-values-in-Jira-Automation/ba-p/1741935
