Hi @Aysia Wright currently this isn't possible, but there is a feature request for it, which you may want to vote for:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-36467

(This feature request which is more precisely what you're asking for was closed as a duplicate of the one above: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-86466)

Hi there! 👋

Currently, in Team Managed Projects, there isn't a native option in Jira to set the Timeline view as the default view that loads when opening a project. By default, Jira directs users to the "Board" or "List" view, depending on the project configuration.

However, here are a few workarounds you can consider:

1. Share Direct Links

If your team primarily works in the Timeline view, you can bookmark and share the direct URL for the Timeline view with your team members. You could even pin this link in a team resource hub or browser bookmarks for easy access.

2. Use Jira Shortcuts

Jira allows you to create project shortcuts (found in the left-hand sidebar). You can add a shortcut link directly to the Timeline view so it’s easy for your team to navigate there quickly.

3. Custom Homepage Redirect (For Advanced Users)

If you're open to using a browser extension or some lightweight scripting, tools like browser-based URL redirect extensions can be configured to automatically open the Timeline view URL when visiting the project.

4. Automation with Add-ons

If you're looking for a more integrated solution, consider using third-party apps from the Atlassian Marketplace to enhance project views and navigation. For example, you could explore apps that allow customizations or enhanced navigation controls.

At Getint, we specialize in integrations and workflow optimizations between platforms like Jira and others. If your project setup requires more advanced customizations or integrations, feel free to reach out—we’d be happy to help streamline your processes!

Hope this helps! 😊
Cheers,
Renata
