How can I see people without time logged into JIRA WORKLOG

Martin Maida July 11, 2023

I have JIRA Worklog to monitor and control the time people log work( time ) in JIRA.

I have many groups of people ( divided by teams) and when I execute the report for a specific GROUP of people, I only see people they have logged time in JIRA.

How can we add the people without time logged, it would be helpful to identify discrepancies and claim them when this happens.

Hi @Martin Maida

You can consider the Worklogs - Time Tracking and Reports app that allows you to monitor the tracking time for particular users and groups.

Take a look at the screenshot below. You can see empty fields in the report - this means that the user did not log the time on that particular day.

Worklogs.png

You can also display the report for a specific group, but unfortunately, if a user in that group has not logged time in the selected date range, he or she will not be displayed in the report - the only drawback as far as your request is concerned:

Worklogs 2.png

In the example above, Claribel, who belongs to the "testing" group, did not log any time from 24.10.22 to 30.10.22. For this reason, the report does not display her for this time range.

However, if you display a report for each user instead of the group, the report will show you this user, but without any value:

Besides this one drawback, the report is very clear and easy to read. In addition, you can always generate an Excel file based on the report. You can filter the report in many other ways as needed.

I encourage you to try our interactive demo to see if this is something that would meet your expectations.

We are also happy to answer any questions about our application. Feel free to contact us by going to this link.

Late to the party, but I hope this would help. Your question is more about pulling users who have not logged work as well in report. Following alternate solves that as well. You have simple configuration to specify whether to show users without worklog or not. Just configure the way you need and you are done.

Jira Assistant is one of the free (Open Source) alternate which not just helps generating worklog and sprint report but also supports time tracking with calendar and timer.

Jira Assistant Worklog Report.png

Look at the screenshot where user who haven't logged work as well is pulled.

This is available as web version, browser extension, App for Jira Cloud, etc. and has lot more other useful features:

For web version: https://app.jiraassistant.com/

For Chrome extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/jira-assistant/momjbjbjpbcbnepbgkkiaofkgimihbii?src=atls_ans

For Firefox extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/jira-assistant/

For Edge: https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/jira-assistant-worklog-/aoenpdbabcjnjbjpegeenodfknllmaoi?utm_source=atls_ans

Hi @Martin Maida   👋

I guess you can try Time in Status for Jira Cloud  to track how much work was spent on a project without logging hours. If developers keep the board updated, then it will be possible. Add-on developed by my team.

The primary purpose is to help teams gather valuable data about the lifecycle of your issues in Jira. Add-on allows you to measure and visualize the time spent in each status, such as "Open," "In Progress," "In Review," and "Closed," and provide 7 types of reports to help you identify areas for improvement. But also with our add-on and reports you easily can have information for example "how much time was spent on support versus how much time was spent on product features".

One of the helpful report for you can be The Assignee time report. Report shows the total time a particular assignee has been working on the issue. That’s why it’s especially useful for identifying who is responsible for the workflow delays.  It shows which assignee has been solving the task longer than it might be necessary.
How it works:

Also we are working on new feature "Time in status sprint report" witch will allowed you to track Team velocity, workload, completion rate, commited, completed, scope change. We are going to release it soon!
Add-on has a 30-day free trial version and free up to 10 users.
Please, let me know if you have any questions

Hope it helps 😌

Hi @Martin Maida

I do not think this is possible without a third-party app as Jira does not natively provide you with an interface to view users and worklogs related to them.

There are many time-tracking apps on the Marketplace, and I do not know which ones exactly offer the functionality you are looking for. One thing I know for sure is that Clockwork Pro developed by my colleagues in the product team offers exactly the view you are looking for. Please note the team members that do not have any time tracked in the selected time frame in the screenshot below:

clk-teams.png

The only drawback is that currently, you would have to define the teams in Clockwork from scratch. We will look into tapping into Jira-defined teams with Clockwork again in the future - the last time we worked on this feature it was not yet possible.

Defining teams is just a few clicks though, with a nice and intuitive interface:

You can trial Clockwork Pro for a full billing cycle (or month if you're on annual billing) for free to see if it matches your needs. It also provides automated time tracking and a very robust timesheet and reporting feature set.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here or contact us via our Service Portal.

Cheers!

Hello @Michał Kowalewski_SolDevelo ,

I am aware of Tempo capabilities, but I have a new question regarding the Jira Filter of Worklogger by Team to be able to use it in WorLog Tempo Gadgets in a DashBoard (with autorefresh capability and customizable).

Here the path to question raised:

JQL worklogged by Team (atlassian.com)
